Each year over 1,500 local officials benefit from NYCOM training events. Taking part in the varied educational and networking opportunities, local officials are assisted with the many challenges they face in local government.


Fall Training School for City & Village Officials

September 11-15, 2017 • Hilton, Saratoga Springs

NYCOM and the Office of the State Comptroller (OSC) collaborate each year to create an exciting program designed primarily for Clerks, Finance Officers, Managers, Administrators, Attorneys, Mayors, Trustees and Council Members with more than 60 separate sessions on various aspects of municipal law, government operations, local finance and professional development.  The Fall Training School also hosts the annual business meetings for the NYS Association of City and Village Clerks and the NYS Society of Municipal Finance Officers. 

Certifications available:  CPE, RMC, CMFO, CLE

Public Works Training School

October 16-18, 2017 • Fort William Henry Hotel and Conference Center, Lake George

This training school gathers public works officials and municipal engineers from around the state to discuss cutting-edge technology; new and emerging state and federal regulations; road and highway issues; best practices; labor and management issues; emergency management; budgeting; and professional development.

Certifications available: DEC, DOH, PDH

Winter Legislative Meeting

February 2018 • Hilton Albany

This meeting is an opportunity for the NYCOM membership to convey a unified message to state decision-makers regarding legislative priorities. NYCOM takes this opportunity to share the collective concerns of its members with our state leaders, as well as hear from them regarding their proposals and plans to assist local governments.

Annual Meeting & Training School

May 6-8 2018 • Gideon Putnam Hotel, Saratoga Springs

This meeting provides an opportunity for Mayors, Managers, Trustees, Council Members, Attorneys, Finance Officers and Clerks to network with peers from other communities and attend a variety of sessions covering both the essential information and skills that every local official needs, as well as some of the more timely and innovative topics. This meeting also features the election of NYCOM’s officers for the upcoming year.
