Early Retirement Incentive Resources Available
Governor Paterson has approved legislation (Chapter 105 of the Laws of 2010) providing local governments with the option to offer employees an early retirement incentive. There are two local option (via local law) incentives contained in the law: an additional service credit targeted incentive under Part A and a 55/25 incentive under Part B. The New York State and Local Retirement System has posted many valuable resources pertaining to these incentives on its website.
